some explanations about my question...

I am a 32 years old man. i have no family left, i never had a romantic relationship and i have no children. I only have some interactions with people in my bowing club, but in fact, i am completely alone. So, i wanted to know,

What is it like to have a family? to have your kid in your arms? to be with people you love at christmas? I never experienced all of that stuff, and i dont want to ask to people irl how they feel about it.

Thank you for your answers, im really curious about it.

I'am in the same situation as you and i'am also asking myself the same question.

I think that the personal experiance of peoples who have families may be very different.
However i think that the great advantage of having a familly, is that you get a reason to go from bed each day, that you experiance "meaning".

I don't have family and I don't know what it's like, but...I don't think about it much. I try to reframe things so I can be happy with what I can't control. I thought about what I gain by not having family...what can I do that people with familoes can't? Well...travelling around and moving to a country I prefer more appeal to me. I've preferred someplace in Europe for 16 years, although which country there has changed a few times. I try to focus my thoughts on whatever I am able to enjoy...whatever freedoms I have...whatever extra finances I have...opportunities...etc. Investing in my own interests, hobbies, etc. If a family comes, great; if not, I'm okay-ish with that, too.

I don't think there's anything wrong about speaking about it openly, I wouldn't let the fact that you are not married etc drag you down and cause you a low self-esteem, aside that if you are a guy you have enough time, until 75 years old to find someone, it's not like the woman who has until 45 years old, so I do think some worries are irrational, in the sense that they are given by peer pressure, I'd say just be open to the idea, but don't pressure yourself over it. It's true that nowadays it is better sooner than later, but unless you are with someone nice, best not to put pressure on yourself.
