Thick bold lie of a man to a woman - what's the matter?

Good day to everyone.

Got a friend who has relations with a woman. This friend does not express emotions even when he does feel them, even with his ex wife and son whom he loves a lot. He has a woman (for over 6 months now) to whom he tells all type of romantic stuff (you are my destiny, my love, my life etc etc.), and knowing my friend quite well I can say it's a big thick lie. I asked him if he loves her, he said "no" without a blink of an eye. He talks to her by phone in front of me and I see he's acting pretty well. I honestly feel sorry for this woman, seems she trusts everything he says, but of course I am not going to interfere in his personal relations or judge him in any way, that's none of my business.

I am an observer, I like to explore human mind and psychology, but I have never been seeing anything like that, and I am puzzled and curious about what is going on. I would say he has some type of narcissistic features, though he's a great and supportive friend and has a great personality. He's a good actor as well. Anticipating a question "what if he acts with me and not with that woman" - he is my homie and me and another friend are with him 24/7, talking about all types of feelings, so I assume he is more true with us as it is not possible to pretend to be another person 24/7.

If someone had seen a similar situation and what was behind it I would appreciate listening to the story.

Cheers.

Maria.

I've never seen such a situation, and if I did, I'd walk the other way, I wouldn't "befriend" someone like that, unless it was like looking in the mirror Idk.
