Hello, I own a vending machine business and I have come across a strange behavior in one of my suppliers that I would like to understand and get down to science. For some particular reason this person really dislikes when people are negotiating with him to get a better price..so much that he "threatens" the buyer with throwing the product out instead of giving it a discount. I know this sounds very strange and dumb, and honestly it is very unwise business practice on his end..but what exactly is going through his mind that makes him believe that getting rid of the product is a better choice? Is there a psychological explanation for this? I can only come up with this person being so selfish that he himself thinks that he is hurting the buyer when truly he is the one missing out.
